[Chanel] Clair de Lune (#965) and Etoile topper (#347)

Happy Halloween … with a nail colour meant for Christmas. Clair de Lune is an olive green with hints of gold and metallic finish. I think it’s even prettier with Etoile on top.

Application was two coats.

One layer of Etoile; it might not look that different and the close-up at the end of this post is rather blurred. But in direct sun the sparkles look really festive.

[Dior] Night Bird (#814)

Night Bird – or Péridot? The latter came instantly up to my mind when looking at this iridescent beauty, with Péridot still belonging to my favourite nail colours. I had just worn it a few days before purchasing Night Bird, not thinking about any similarity.

Night Bird, too, is olive and gold with an iridescent metallic shimmer. Here’s two coats.

Compared to Péridot, I think that Night Bird has a tiny bit (just a splash) more gold in its formular, but otherwise they seem pretty close.

[Dior] Wild Wings (#811)

Autumn is approaching – at least on the nails, although it’s already windy and rainy outside. Wild Wings is one of my recently puchased Dior varnishes, with an autumnal bronze and copper base, shifting to olive green. Beautiful, don’t you think?

Upon unwrapping Wild Wings, I remembered Chanel Opulence – but haven’t compared them yet, apart from pulling the bottles out. I’d say they are close, although the olive green iridescent bit is more showing in Opulence. Hope to do proper swatches soon. Since I might not go to Nienburg on Thursday (as I had planned) because I’m waiting for my new washing machine to be delivered, I will probably stay in Hamburg for another week, with some time for nail stuff. 😎

Wallis Again

It’s been a while … but Wallis made it on my nails again. This is such a pretty colour and I am still overwhelmed by the olive green base, that’s why I just had to post these photos.

Two coats applied, as usual.

Alchimie again

I’m bothering you with another “reloaded” mani. But Alchimie can tell a story. When I first tried (and posted) this, I didn’t like it so much. Pretty but … it didn’t make it on my nails again until shortly.

A couple of years ago, my second husband went to Copenhagen, and that’s how I got a miniature Little Mermaid, which he had picked very carefully, because he wanted to pick a mermaid with the most beautiful hair. 😉 I kept her on my desk, then with my selection of nail varnishes I was planning to apply … and dropped her accidentally sometime in March. The head broke off. 😦 I was devastated but managed to glue the head back on. She looked good again, however, the crack was still visible – and that’s when Alchimie came into play. Nail varnishes are varnishes, aren’t they? 😉 This is the result:

Still a visible line, but Alchimie is indeed almost the same shade as the Little Mermaid.

Of course, I applied Alchimie on my nails too. 😉 It’s one of my favourite colours now.

[Yves Saint Laurent] Khaki Arty (#31)

If you are a bit familiar with my taste, you will notice that Khaki Arty is quite an unusual shade for my nails. It’s indeed khaki with olive green undertones – nothing that will make me think of winter days. 😉 I received this from C.M of ChaHeVu blog – ages ago and as a special edition of Vogue Fashion’s Night Out.

[Chanel] Garçonne (520)

Today it’s Garçonne which I decided to choose for my nails. The colour – grey with a proportion of olive – reflects a bit the weather … but apart from that, Garçonne is a pretty, elegant shade.

[A England] Fotheringhay Castle

Somewhere between moss green and olive green, combined with golden shimmer and a holographic finish, that’s Fotheringhay Castle.

Application was two coats (although this is highly pigmented) and I seized a sunny afternoon some weeks ago to take these photos outside.
