[Chanel] Lagune (#179)

Lagune is a recent addition, both to my collection and to Chanel’s latest nail colour releases. It boasts a stunning ocean blue metallic hue.

Eager to see how it looked on my nails, I wasted no time in swatching it right after picking it up from the post office.

I applied two coats for this quick swatch, foregoing the use of base or top coat. Rest assured, I’ll be wearing it again for a proper manicure in the near future.

[Dior] Eden-Roc (#909)

Hello from Lower Saxony! I had a pleasant journey to Nienburg although I had to go three days earlier than planned due to disruptions in train schedules. Nonetheless I’m now enjoying the serene atmosphere of this place and the beautiful nature that surrounds it.

As for Eden-Roc, dark blue nail colors can look absolutely stunning during the summer. When exposed to direct sunlight, this shade reveals its captivating indigo and blue glitter particles, creating a mesmerizing metallic finish. It’s the perfect choice for adding a touch of glamour to your summer nails.

[essence] Misty Shadows

I had planned to present at least one of the Dior nail polishes for Christmas but forgot to take some photos. Hence this post is dedicated to Misty Shadows, which was a birthday present given to me by my daughter. We spent last weekend in Nienburg and I applied this metallic blackened green (I think it also contains a tad of blue) the same day.

Two coats shown below. It’s actually iridescent (which it says on the bottle too), shifting from dark green to a purple shimmer.

[Chanel] Clair de Lune (#965) and Etoile topper (#347)

Happy Halloween … with a nail colour meant for Christmas. Clair de Lune is an olive green with hints of gold and metallic finish. I think it’s even prettier with Etoile on top.

One layer of Etoile; it might not look that different and the close-up at the end of this post is rather blurred. But in direct sun the sparkles look really festive.

[a england] Mashrabiya

It’s springtime – with Fantasy Filmfest Nights starting next Thursday, my first film event this year. Swatching nail colours in the sun is much nicer too, so Mashrabiya makes the start. I guess it’s been a while since my last A England purchase. Mashrabiya looks brown in the bottle but actually contains some hints of purple, in addition to its golden metallic shimmer.

[Dior] Or Rouge / Red Gold (#713)

I’m not yet back in Hamburg but still have tons of drafts in my dashboard, and since Christmas is pretty near, here is a gold-themed vintage nail colour: Or Rouge (or Red Gold) is a metallic … you name it, red gold, combined with copper.

I don’t know the release date but it is still pretty. Two coats shown below.

[Dior] Early Bird (#812)

Autumn is approaching and here’s Early Bird. A bit hard to describe because, first at all, it’s iridescent and its colours are shifting between lilac, rosewood and silver, topped with what seems like golden shimmer.

Let’s have a look at the swatches. Two coats applied. I’m sure that there is a similar Chanel but haven’t figured out which one, so your suggestions are appreciated. 🙂

[Dior] Night Bird (#814)

Night Bird – or Péridot? The latter came instantly up to my mind when looking at this iridescent beauty, with Péridot still belonging to my favourite nail colours. I had just worn it a few days before purchasing Night Bird, not thinking about any similarity.

nightbird814_batch

Night Bird, too, is olive and gold with an iridescent metallic shimmer. Here’s two coats.

Compared to Péridot, I think that Night Bird has a tiny bit (just a splash) more gold in its formular, but otherwise they seem pretty close.

[Dior] Wild Wings (#811)

Autumn is approaching – at least on the nails, although it’s already windy and rainy outside. Wild Wings is one of my recently puchased Dior varnishes, with an autumnal bronze and copper base, shifting to olive green. Beautiful, don’t you think?

Upon unwrapping Wild Wings, I remembered Chanel Opulence – but haven’t compared them yet, apart from pulling the bottles out. I’d say they are close, although the olive green iridescent bit is more showing in Opulence. Hope to do proper swatches soon. Since I might not go to Nienburg on Thursday (as I had planned) because I’m waiting for my new washing machine to be delivered, I will probably stay in Hamburg for another week, with some time for nail stuff. 😎
