[A England] Excalibur Renaissance

Last post for this year, as it seems. I seize the opportunity to wish you all a great 2018. Enjoy your festivities or whatever you have planned for New Year’s Eve.

This is Excalibur Renaissance, the re-formulated Excalibur. Sadly I don’t own the original version, so I cannot compare. But this is a silver metallic and really stands out.

Emerald (Dior, #809) again

I’m waiting for A England’s Tudoresque to arrive – and have more or less applied colours I had worn before, more or less. That’s why I have finally better photos of beautiful Emerald, one of my Christmas favourites this year.

[Essence] Chrome Into My Life

Chrome Into My Life. According to Essence this comes with a “melted chrome” effect, so I thought it could be mirror-like (as the bottle design indicates). The colour is silver.

Actually, it’s silver with metallic finish. No mirror-shine though but still pretty. This is three coats because the formula is pretty sheer.

[Essence] Elfin Whispers

Elfin Whispers was a wonderful birthday present I got from my daughter last Sunday (hence on my actual birthday). It’s currently available at drugstores which have Essence cosmetics and I would have bought it anyway because I was curious when hearing about “melted chrome”. Elfin Whispers is purple and has a metallic finish.

Application is good but you have to be quick; this can get stripy. Without topcoat the finish is more semi-matte or satin. Adding topcoat, the finish becomes glossy – but not shiny as in “mirror-like”. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty colour and formula. This is two coats, by the way.

[Dior] Emerald (#809)

Emerald is my latest and brand new Dior and belongs to this year’s Holiday collection, which had arrived last Saturday at Alsterhaus but since they had not testers, the display was still waiting for being set up. Emerald is a green metallic with a hint of turquoise.

[Chanel] Surprise (#153)

I still have a couple of vintage Chanel nail colours I have not posted (nor worn) yet. Gold is a tricky shade to wear for me – in my view, it’s more something for darker and shorter days … which we have now. In addition, I wanted to apply Surprise for quite a while, so I just pulled it out. I would describe the colour as light gold with a tiny hint of green and metallic finish.

There’s a slight visible nail line after to coats, which didn’t bother me. Artificial light.
