I’m back from Rotterdam and had an amazing time during the five days at EMAG (European Mensas Annual Gathering)! Tomorrow I’m heading to Nienburg for a short getaway, and with a new job starting next Tuesday, things are a bit busy, but I’m truly grateful for these mini vacations until then.

It’s been a while since I painted my nails with Légende, a beautiful beige-brown shade that almost matches my skin tone, giving it a subtle nude beige appearance. This color exudes a classic charm, and I’ve grown quite fond of it.

So how have you been doing? I admit I spend less time in front of the computer because that’s what I’m doing for work – hence I’m happy reading a book when I’m off-duty or, of course, going swimming or watching a good film. Which brings me to Japan-Filmfest Hamburg starting Wednesday next week, and I haven’t even been thinking about my nail polish choice yet. I guess I’ll go for bright colours or glitter.

Dansante won’t be among my Japan-Filmfest picks but I’m presenting this brown (with a tad of mauve) today.

Two coats shown below. It is certainly a colour matching my skintone. We had some sunny days and I’m already quite tanned! 😎

It’s springtime – with Fantasy Filmfest Nights starting next Thursday, my first film event this year. Swatching nail colours in the sun is much nicer too, so Mashrabiya makes the start. I guess it’s been a while since my last A England purchase. Mashrabiya looks brown in the bottle but actually contains some hints of purple, in addition to its golden metallic shimmer.

Hapy New Year! While 2021 was full of changes and experiences, I hope that this year will provide more stability and be a little bit calmer, giving me more time for personal interests. Let’s start with Brun Fumé as the first post of the year, muted khaki brown. I’ve heard this colour was very popular and sold out quickly.

Not the kind of colour I prefer but smooth application. Two coats shown below.

Here’s another beauty for autumn. 4 P.M. is a light brown, containing a hint of taupe.

This is a classy yet special (since it’s brown) shade. Two coats applied.

[Dior] Wild Earth (#826)

Wild Earth; this is a classic crème finish brown. While it goes well with my tanned skin, it’s probably not everyone’s favourite. I like wearing bronze and brown shades during the summer.

Application was two coats.

[Dior] Big Bang Brown (Brun Big Bang) (#924)

Time for a vintage Dior! This is Big Bang Brown; as most of the times with older nail varnishes, I have no idea when this was released or as part of which collection. But regarding the bottle design, this red brown (with shimmer) looks rather old.

Nevertheless it applies flawlessly and it’s a beautiful colour, too. Two coats shown below. Photos taken under artificial light.

[Chanel] Morocco (#37)

Well, hello! The past week was full of maths and I spent the weekend at my mothers and enjoyed “Frühjahrsmarkt” (kind of a fair), which was fun too. Although shops were open on Sunday and it was family day too, the small town in Lower Saxony wasn’t really crowded, nothing compared to Hamburg on a regular Saturday. I am so happy that it’s finally spring – we had like 24 degrees celsius on Sunday – and so needed it for my mood. I’m definitely made for hot temperatures.

Which you would find in Morocco. The Chanel nail polish of the same name is brown with a silver shimmer, also containing hints of bronze. I don’t know how old it is, but it is certainly a vintage colour.
