I’m back from Fantasy Filmfest (although I was in Hamburg all the time, of course, but spending time at the movies for almost 12 hours a day is somewhat different …) and, being super crazy about this horror and independent stuff, saw all of the 54 films. 😉
Right now I am wearing Jungle Matte on my nails, which is a brand new Dior. So they ae doing mattes now and kind of re-invented this finish with a formula that is super easy to apply and dries quickly. No gritty surface – just pure matte. Jungle Matte is a nude beige (or light brown) colour.
Daylight, two coats (no top coat, of course).
I tried to find Paparazzi in this blog, then realised that I had worn but obviously not been taking photos of it … thus I applied it again. The colour is brown with a hint of plum and copper shimmer.
Two coats shown below. I didn’t like it when I first tried it shortly after its release (hence summer 2013) but don’t remember why. Maybe the usual skinton/nail colour clash. Nevertheless, when I wore Paparazzi again a couple of weeks ago, I thought it looked really classy on my nails. Even under artificial light. 😉
Even better in daylight! 😎
So, I’m sorry for not having shown it before. But even if I had – Photobucket is still keeping my stuff on hold, and I am very slow regarding migrating to flickr. I usually try to update all posts (i. e. uploading photos again) I notice you were clicking on, so at least you’ll have those.
And for something else: Tomorrow we’ll be going to a pool party, which is taking place at the local swimming bath (it’s a small, but this place has only a population of 32,000). You remember that I love swimming and I go there regularly. There will be a professional setup, involving many games and so, of course, it’s especially for children, so I guess my daughter will have loads of fun. And me too. People are so incredibly nice over there, guests as well as staff. I have kind of a swimming buddy – not a real buddy, just an old man I can share a lane with when it gets too muddled up in the pool. So we never speak – but don’t get in each other’s way, and he is a bit faster than me, but I seem to have gotten better, haha. 😉 But what I was actually about to say: At first, I thought he was in his mid-50s, until I could take a look at his face without his goggles – I would have guessed: 70 and above. But swims so so fast! Today I had another peek, and believe me or not: He must be way older than 80! I was just thinking: OMG! 😯 I wish I was that fit. Amazing.
(Also loved that tousle-haired granny today, who was a slow swimmer but still decided to move to the fast track – which I only use when there is no other lap. She looked to happy and smiled a lot! 🙂 )
I have absolutely no idea when I took these photos – but since then, about seven years might indeed have passed! 😯 Thanks to the Phobtobucket fail and the vast majority of my photos not being displayed any more (I’m still working on it, migrating to Flickr, but I am progressing so slowly), I found Absolutely Stylish on my hard drive, wondering why I never published a post of this really unique brown with green glassflecks. So here it comes.
I am pretty sure that this is my usual two-coat application.
Gosh, the name! Check out Wikepedia or some urban dictionary, if you haven’t heard of “santorum” before, it only sounds like a monastic order 🙄 … As for this nail varnish, the colour is dark brown with shimmer, due to silver microglitter. Super matte finish too.
Application was two coats. Artificial light:
Natural light on the next day; I had applied hand cream and did some household chores, that’s why the finish looks more glossy in these pics.
Definitely a summer colour and perfect for sunny days: Blazing Bronze (which is more a brown bronze) is one of my favourite summer shades for this year. It’s packed with golden and bronze shimmer, which is already prominent in the bottle and also visible on the nails.
Two coats applied.

If you are a bit familiar with my taste, you will notice that Khaki Arty is quite an unusual shade for my nails. It’s indeed khaki with olive green undertones – nothing that will make me think of winter days. 😉 I received this from C.M of ChaHeVu blog – ages ago and as a special edition of Vogue Fashion’s Night Out.
Shown below is two coats.
Artificial light. This brings out the green.
Heroine Chic. Base colours are brown and grey – combined with red shimmer and a metallic finish.
Two coats shown below, and I wish the wheather had been better, more direct sunlight. Because Heroine Chic is really kind of chic.
