This has been the signature shade of Essie’s Holiday Collection of last year, Leading Lady. It’s a berry red with a jelly base containing glitter particles of different sizes.
Two coats. Leading Lady actually reminds me of the varnish I’m wearing right now, China Glaze Ruby Pumps (although the latter is more red-based and has smaller glitter bits.)
This is a darker red with a hint of brown – so beautiful!
Tried to take a photo under natural light too.
Certainly one of my favourite dark reds: Rouge Garçonne, although it had taken me ages until I wanted to try it. I don’t know why. In a word, it’s stunning.
Two coats. I’m wearing this about once or twice a month. Wonderful shade!
I adore each of the collections by a-england, but the Gothic Beauties contain some of my favourite shades. Jane Eyre has a black base with a noticeable eggplant/wine red shimmer. I read the book during my final year at school, like so many classic novels.
Two coats. Gosh, it was at the end of November last year when I took those photos … And because of the time of the year, all of them were taken under artificial light.
Close-up view. Don’t even remember how I managed to capture this. 😉
Thought I had already posted this, since I did the mani way back in May… Icône is so beautiful, it’s the darkest member of the Les Rouges family. Very vampy, also containing a visible shimmer.
Two coats… I think I should wear this again soon! And those long nails, it seems ages ago. 😉
Malice is this year’s holiday varnish by Chanel. In Germany, it’s only available at Breuninger (Stuttgart) and KaDeWe (Berlin) department stores. Luckily, my friend RoteNina surprised me with this by getting it directly from Breuninger right after they had received the Christmas collection. 🙂 Thank you again!
The shade is definitely Christmas-themed, being a dark red/burgundy red with a visible shimmer.
Daylight photos. I’m sorry but I could not manage doing a makro shot of Malice’s shimmer, since lightning was so bad… 😦
Ages ago (sometime in the past year), the Chanel lady at their Alsterhaus counter suggested Madness to me, which I got only a while ago (but waiting for Madness didn’t drive me mad 😉 ). It’s a reddish brown, or red containing a great proportion of brown.
And indeed, I liked it right from the beginning! They were so right at Chanel, it’s one of those perfect shades for me. 🙂 Two coats.
