Essence Circus Confetti layered over MAC Ice Cream Cake (plus an announcement or so)
After some sad news, I needed something happy at least on my nails, so I went for layering Circus Confetti over Ice Cream Cake.
Call it Ice Cream Confetti or Circus Cake – I think it’s a jolly combo. First pic is more authentic.

I won’t be in the mood for posting much within the next weeks or so; I’m occupied with lots of unforseeable things which have occurred during the past few weeks… trying to hopefully get some peace of mind, but don’t worry! There are still some posts on hold, waiting to be published soon.
[Essence] Circus Confetti
Sheer jelly base loaded with multicolour round and hexagonal glitter chunks.

Finally, I managed a swatch.
This is Circus Confetti over Barry M Berry Ice Cream (I chose this colour randomly since I was swatching it anyway), which made a surprisingly nice combination. I’m not that much into pastels at present – not any more -, and the Confetti gives them a kick.

These pictures were taken later, in September 2011. I used Circus Confetti for a jelly-based frankenpolish called Evaverse (named after my little one again).

Deborah Lippmann’s Happy Birthday came to my mind when hearing of Circus Confetti; that’s why I didn’t want to buy it at first. However, they are in fact different; Happy Birthday (right) contains bigger hexagon shaped glitters while Circus Confetti appears to be more colourful because of its loads of pink and purple glitter particles.

To be honest, I begin to like Circus Confetti more than Happy Birthday but I guess it depends on which shade you are going to combine them with.
[Catrice] I Wear My Sunglasses At Night
This contains mainly purple and green microglitter in a blackened brown base.

Two coats. I found it a bit tricky too apply but can’t say why. However, it looks nice, its surface not becoming too gritty upon drying. Swatches were done without top coat.

[China Glaze] Party Hearty
Tons of Christmas-coloured glitter in a sheer base. Great for layering. Christmas in a bottle.

[deborah lippmann] Happy Birthday
Party In A Bottle. A transparent base with multicoloured glitter in various shapes.

Two coats.

[OPI] Mad As A Hatter
Glitter, glitter, glitter! Teal, fuchsia, silver, orange, gold… anything else?

Swatched by my daughter.

Here’s my swatch, finally I managed.

Close-up. Bad light, I’m sorry, it was so cloudy outside.

My personal nail polish database; this is just a small blog. If you wish a particular shade to be swatched, let me know. You may use my pictures for noncommercial purposes but please give full credit, including a link to my blog. Thanks!
