[Chanel] Frisson
Frisson is the shade that is currently on my nails; it was meant to travel with me to meet a lovely (or crazy?
) bunch of other Chanel varnish collectors… however, I had to stay at home but anyway put Frisson on. This is a sweet colour, it’s a light pink shade loaded with flakies.

Three thin coats. Not a perfect match regarding my skintone, thus, but I like it nevertheless.

[essence] A Lovely Secret
Another lilac/lavender shade! A Lovely Secret lives up to its name, since it is packed with small flakies.

Two coats. My little one loves this, too.

I’m very much looking forward to today’s dinner… we’ll be eating out at a Japanese restaurant.
[Rescue Beauty Lounge] Pizzicato
… and welcoming a new category: RBL varnishes.
So far, I’ve only got two of them but let me say, they are amazing! Quality, choice of colours, bottle design, simply everything. Here is Pizzicato, a light lilac containing loads of small flakies.

To be honest, in the first place, I had actually bought this for its name but nevertheless I also fell in love with this cute shade immediately. Two coats, flawless application.

[The Hungry Asian] Fancy Pants
I’ve still got loads of older pics, these too, are from last year, I did a mani with Fancy Pants by Kae aka The Hungry Asian, who describes this gorgeous shade as a “raspberry shimmer with red and lilac superfine glitter and flakies”.

Two coats.

Kae’s got an Etsy store now, offering international shipping. Check out her frankens here.
[OPI] Visions of Sugarplum
Another awesome dark shade – iridescent purple with small flakies.

Love the formula. So easy to apply and chip-resistant. Dried quickly, too. This is two coats with Essie Good to Go top coat, since shown below is the actual mani.

[Orly] Pixie Dust
Basically, Pixie Dust reminds of Mirror Mirror (both are from the Once Upon A Time collection, that’s why it comes with another charm, a fairy), but it is more a medium grey with a hint of blue, containing sparkly flakies in a quite opaque jelly base.

Yesterday I had a little chat with Pictured Tinsel‘s Elena about this one… @Elena, I’m sure you’ll like Pixie Dust! Looking forward to seeing your swatches.
Two coats, artificial light.

[Essence] Re-mix Your Style – Love and Dance Top Coats
At first, I wasn’t sure about those two, but anyway, I could not resist.

I used them both over Chanel Vendetta, which is an almost black purple with a hidden shimmer. The Dance top coat is actually called Waking Up in Vegas and contains loads of flakies. I’ve heard that it is a dupe to GOSH Rainbow and Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure. Unfortunately, I do not own these two, so I can’t do comparisons.

Feels So Good is the actual name of the Love top coat, which gives the mani underneath a pinkish shimmer, but it’s a quite complex one, so that Vendetta appears more purple than black.

I like both of them.
[Nars] Orgasm
Here’s a polish that doesn’t look good on me (I think). Orgasm is a stunning shimmery peach, it has got flakies, it is overall popular… but it does not go well with my skin tone.

I took this photo ages ago and remember that I was quite tanned at that time, so I should probably give Orgasm another try, since summer is over now. Three coats.

I revisited Orgasm in late October 2011; this is how it turned out. Still not my colour but more beautiful, in my view…

[p2] Rich
What I love about p2 varnishes is that they’ve got some unique shades. Gorgeous is still my favourite and Rich has caught me too. It’s a jelly-ish plum and, you got the name, rich of glitter and flakies. Unfortunately it is a discontinued shade and probably even from last year, since I got it from the clearance bin in spring.

Two coats.

[Nfu Oh] 51 layered over Chanel Vendetta
Yesterday was a dark and rainy day, and in the evening I was in the mood for trying Nfu Oh 51. I had seen loads of swatches of this lately but was not sure about how its flakies overkill would look on me. On the other hand, I was eager to give it a try, and I chose Vendetta as a base…

… since Nfu Oh 51 comes with a sheer purple base.

This is what I got.

Depending on the sunlight, the shimmer of the flakies looks different.

I’m totally convinced by opal flakes now and need to get some other shades by Nfu Oh!
