[Chanel] Jade Rose

I’m wearing Jade Rose now, which I bought at Newcastle Airport back in March 2011 and I’d been keeping it in my drawer since then. It’s a peachy nude containing a hidden shimmer and I always think it does not go well with my skintone.

Jade Rose is the little sister of Jade 407 green polish… which will be the follow-up shade on my nails.

Starting to like Jade Rose; it’s really different compared to what I ususally wear… which makes it somewhat special. Still dry cuticles, despite olive oil treatment.

Anyway, looks like I’m not wearing any nail varnish at all!

Another polish from the Anselm Reyle Collection. I don’t remember when I had last worn a crème finish black without any layering, must be back in 2008.

Two coats. Sorry, bad cuticles due to the cold… and I did not clean up the middle finger.

Another crackle top coat – Blue Thunder, which has a metallic effect.

I tried it over Essie Borrowed and Blue, a pastel baby blue from last year’s Wedding Collection, also using a top coat (the Dior one) to achieve a glossy finish.

This is one of the oldest swatches I found – and certainly an old polish, Argent. Strange bottle shape.

Two coats or so, I’m not sure anymore… this is so sheer.

This is the perfect lime neon green, an older China Glaze, still carrying the white label (and thus discontinued).

I like both the name and the shade of this polish.

Looks so glossy in the pics, but actually it has a nice crème finish. Two coats. I swatched this in November. At present, my nails are very short, so I won’t be doing new swatches theses days…

Referring to the name of this nail varnish, this was me with about 25, in my old flat in Birmingham, West Midlands.

Given to me for Christmas by my nail polish pal Mila (check out her beautiful blog, Schöne Nagellacke) – thank you again for this! -, Vamp shares its number (18) with another classic (and classy) Chanel varnish, Rouge Noir. However, Vamp is quite different with its subtle shimmer in a dark purple base. It lives definitely up to its name.

Two coats. This is a very cloudy picture, rather dark… no top coat, by the way.

I already showed Vamp layered with Clarins 230.

It’s still frosty (although the sun is shining at the moment) and below zero degrees celsius. Both the Binnenalster and Außenalster (Hamburg’s artificial lakes) are frozen, so that we can expect a great event that had not been taking place since 1997, the Alstereisvergnügen (sorry, link is in German only). That’s a kind of fair taking place on the ice. Looking forward to it!

[The Hungry Asian] Cookies & Cream

Because of the frosty weather these days, I was in the mood to apply a white-based polish (although it’s not snowing but awfully cold), and I opted for Cookies & Cream by Kae aka The Hungry Asian.

This is black microglitter in a white base, it’s stunning on the nails! I swatched this before, but in summer, haha! Looks great, regardless of the season though. And yummy!

Found this on my hard disk drive… multicoloured glitter in various sizes and shapes in a blackened jelly base. I’ve got the mini bottle of Androgynie, which belongs to Orly’s Holiday Soirée Collection of Holiday 2011.

Two coats, I guess. I’m going to apply it again next week, I love this polish! Missed out lots of glitter when swatching Androgynie.

One of the lower numbers (08), a stunning red with a rather jelly finish, re-released last fall.

Two coats. I took lots of photos, so here comes a little spam… Artificial light.

Natural light; currently, it’s freezing outside and rather cold! However, no ice or dark clouds.
